In generic form, Affiliate Marketing can be defined as a process in which different brands club together and post ads of other associated brands on their website. When an e-retailer start online trading, it is understandable that he may suffer shortage of funds, scarcity of resources etc. So it becomes extremely difficult for the retailers to promote their website and seek customers’ attention. Lack of marketing can result into poor customer attention and lower sales, and no e-retailer would wish to undergo such losses.

Affiliate Marketing is seeking a lot of attention of e-retailers nowadays, and it is deemed as most effective promotional stunt. Small companies are grouped under one brand name and link to their affiliated sites are given. Consider the example: A, B and C are affiliates of one big brand D. Now D will do the marketing of all its affiliates and all the customers visiting D can get access to A, B and C as well. In this way, all the affiliates will get back-links to their personal websites and can enjoy more sales. 


Before you plan to begin with the marketing, key point to consider is to find out all those brands that can help you with affiliate marketing, maintaining the standard of your website. You can Google it and compare the prices and services etc. Consider the proposals offered by companies as these are also equally essential. Try and invest with the brands that offer better incentives. 


The brands are paid when sales are made. Commission prices are also finalized after the sale only. This strategy is made to shun unnecessary outlay during the service. So such clause should be transparent with the affiliates and honest proposal should be made. Affiliate marketing is genuinely very helpful to new or old e-retailers and the practice is heavily adopted by all the businesses.
